Continuing Pharmacy Education

Accreditation

The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

To receive continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits, participants must attend an activity in its entirety and complete the evaluation on the ASCP Learning center by July 16, 2018. No partial credits will be given. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth before they submit the session evaluation.

Focus Groups

ASCP has a series of advisory focus groups representing different industry sectors. These groups are a way for members to network and share ideas virtually and in person at ASCP national meetings. All focus groups will meet during the 2018 ASCP Forum on Thursday, May 17 from 9:00am-12:00pm. In order to participate, you must pre-register by selecting the focus group you wish to attend during Forum registration. If you need to add/change your selection after registration, please contact ASCP.

Home and Community-Based Consultant Pharmacists

This group (formerly titled "Private Practice Network/PPN") is established to enable the mutual sharing of experience and expertise among senior care pharmacists in the home and community-based settings. The goals of this group are to:

  • Facilitate shared learning and networking; To explore new business and clinical opportunities.
  • Support the progressive movement of home and community based pharmacist initiatives.
  • Advocate for the unique educational and marketing needs of the group.
  • Provide guidance to ASCP leadership regarding business and clinical educational programming ideas.

This Focus Group is open to ASCP member pharmacists who have senior-focused clinical practices based outside of the nursing home setting.

Consultant Pharmacist Operators

This is a group of consultant pharmacists who own and operate an independent LTC clinical and consultant practice. These practitioners contract directly with nursing home operators to do monthly drug regimen reviews and in many cases medication reviews at time of admission and discharge to home.

Nursing Home Pharmacy Executives

This program is specifically for pharmacist executives employed by regional or national skilled nursing and assisted living providers. This is a must attend for pharmacists responsible for pharmacy services contracting and medication services on behalf of LTPAC operators.

LTC Pharmacy Operators

This is a group of pharmacy managers, owners and executives. It’s a great networking opportunity for pharmacy executives to discuss operational challenges and opportunities, for example, working with EHR companies.

Exit the airport following signs for Alexandria and merge onto US Route 1 South. Turn left at the first traffic light onto 27th Street. Continue through Crystal Drive.
