  1. Distinguish between value-based reimbursement and other reimbursement models, and discuss how evolving reimbursement models can change the ways in which pharmacy services may be provided in the future.
  2. Explore value-based reimbursement opportunities by learning about the CMS Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative and the impact on patient outcomes and business practice development.
  3. Discuss the challenges of attaining electronic system interoperability while maintaining appropriate personal health information privacy.
  4. Examine pharmacy practice opportunities and develop strategies to address the economic challenges of providing specialty medications in the long term care setting.
  5. Describe the CMS Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI) Demonstration Project, and operational challenges to implementation of a BPCI program.
  6. Identify strategies to improve efficiency and clinical care using the principles of BPCI.
